The Voggenreiter Violin Basics takes beginners through the first steps in their violin-playing career. The book starts out with a few of the corner-stones, teaching beginners how to properly hold the bow and violin via clear and easy-to-understand images. Slowly but surely, the book picks up the pace with simple exercises and basic knowledge of music theory, notation, fingering and scales. Next to the book, beginners get a CD loaded with backing tracks for the included play-along songs.

Heel goed beginnersboek. Dit had ik niet verwacht voor het lage bedrag. Heel goede opbouw van de open snaren noten, naar noten met de drie vingers. En uiteindelijk het gebruik van de vierde vinger. Strijkbewegingen anders dan de standaard beweging, worden minder goed beschreven. Maar daar heb je ook wel een echte docent voor nodig denk ik. De cd is een leuke toevoeging, snap ook niet dat ik die pas na een maand heb uitgeprobeerd. Ben heel blij dat ik voor dit boekje heb gekozen, want ik vlieg er doorheen en zie elke dag vooruitgang. Nog even en ik kan op zoek gaan naar een nieuw boek, voor de niet- beginner.
